Typically best cloud storage providers are difficult to choose. However, it is worth a try as the need for online cloud storage providers has been increasing rapidly with the increase in the daily use of tablets and smartphones. The sleek and small form factors of mobile devices pose limitations on the available internal storage. This makes the services offered by online cloud storage providers a necessity to even the common man.

Many online cloud storage service providers, vying the infinite potential in online storage capacity, also provide “free” storage to attract new customers. Free cloud storage services enable one to store photos, files, music, videos, and movies for free and thus access them on the go via the internet from anywhere.

Data stays safe with the online cloud storage providers and one does not run the threat of a stolen or crashed hard disk.

Some of the Best Online Cloud Storage Providers Are:

Dropbox: Dropbox is undoubtedly the best online cloud storage provider in the world. It can be availed of on almost any platform and is extremely simple to use. Dropbox offers 2 GB of free cloud storage space to all users and users can earn up to 16 GB of extra free storage by referring Dropbox to their friends. Launched in 2008, Dropbox is being used by millions of people. It lets the user store files in the cloud and also syncs those files across various devices. The application is available on a varied range of platforms like Android, iOS, Windows, Mac OS X, etc.

Mega: Mega was launched as an online cloud storage provider after the once-popular file hosting service megaupload.com was shut down. Mega offers as much as 50 GB of free online cloud storage space to its users.

Box: Unlike Dropbox that is used by individuals, Box is used mostly by enterprises and businesses. Providing 10 GB of free online storage space for personal use, Box offers a personal account where a user can only upload files smaller than 250 MB to the cloud. This happens to be a nagging inconvenience if the user needs to store large files or movies.

Copy: Copy is an online cloud storage provider launched by the computer data storage company named Barracuda Networks. Providing 15 GB of free online cloud storage space to each user, Copy also offers a 5 GB free storage space for every referral made by the user. Sky is the limit with Copy as there is no upper limit to the free online storage space a user can get.
