12th September is the date that all are heavily drawing their breaths on. The reason is no other than the launch of the much awaited iPhone 5. By now the interest level has reached its peaking zenith, so much so that even the user that occasionally glances in the direction of a smartphone is following the patent drama being played out by Apple and Samsung if nothing else.
But there is of course way more to talk about then just that. Since we have managed to exhaust the list of what to expect in the upcoming version, we are going to talk about things that we would normally disregard- -all but the true tech geeks that is. But since at this point in time we’re all riding the hype wave and the tech geeks have become sorts of saviors who are the disseminators of secret Apple knowledge (perhaps even surpassing Eve in this regard), better to take advantage of the situation and give you some more peels off the Apple to keep you talking till the harvest.
Noise Suppression Technology
Yup don’t be so shocked it hasn’t just been invented It’s been there all along- – time to give it some undue importance in the name of news. So the iPhone has been using a voice quality chip from the company named Audience.
Of course, Audience needed to get some limelight so it has stated that this time around, the iPhone 5 will most likely not be using their chip. Previously they had been using the Audience earSmart voice and audio circuitry including in the iPhone 4. Does this mean they have an alternate supplier or have managed to perfect their device that they no longer need Audience? Quite possibly. We’ll know the answer to this once the phone actually arrives.
Samsung Chips in iPhone 5
So the rumor which followed has been that aside the Audience vice chip, Samsung’s memory chips has also been chucked from the latest design. This shouldn’t be of any surprise. What with the patent fight being battled out in the courts, it was only to follow that there would be repercussions within the company’s business and interaction on a whole. Since the two smartphone giants already have a lot to do with each other, any which way you look at it, the relationship cannot deteriorate so soon. What can happen is that the fight can dwindle down to components since Apple can’t possibly afford to lose Samsung at this stage.
Is this reading too much in to the company’s odd ends? Perhaps. According to Bloomberg report, the whole issue of not using Samsung chips is the pricing involved. Though the differences in prices are not all that obvious, it is suspected that Cupertino has a better price to offer. However, though there are some issues here and there, we do know that Samsung is still the provider of the main processor.
This is all to think about so far. Now we’ll only know how resistant the iPhone 5 is to things such as cell phone tracking and iPhone spyware, battery life, component technology and whatnot till it arrives and the narrative unfolds. Happy obsessing!
