Nexus 6 Rumors, Release Dates, Features, Specifications and Price

January 3, 2024 by Siddharth 6 Comments

Since Google launched its flagship series of phones known as Nexus starting with the Nexus One with HTC back in 2010, the mountain giant has never disappointed Smartphone lovers ever since. Google has launched four of its Nexus series phones to date with the latest being the Google Nexus 5 with LG launched last year November. Currently, the internet giant has it eyes set on launching the eagerly waited and rumored Google Nexus 6 probably in the 3rd quarter of 2014. Earlier on, Google was rumored to partner with Lenovo or its immediate partner LG for the Nexus 6, but it very much seems it will go back to its roots and partner with HTC. Word has it that the Google Nexus 6 will founded on the just released HTC One M8 phone as per a report made by Inferse.

Nexus 6 Rumors, Release Dates and Features

The History

Just after making Android accessible to other devices Google decided it was time to start its own series of Smartphones offering competitive prices with unique configurations around. According to Google, this series was out to capture the market of Smartphone lovers without the much cash to afford it but also needed a phone that could do pretty much a good smart phone can. And so the Nexus series was born.

Nexus 6 Release Dates

Until now nothing can really confirm the expected release date of Nexus 6. Speculations among fans, myself included, have it that since its previous two Nexus devices each launched in the months of November 2012 and 2013 respectively, it is highly probable that the Nexus 6 will follow the same time lines.

  • HTC Nexus One released Jan 2010
  • Samsung nexus 2 released Dec 2010
  • Samsung Galaxy Nexus 3 released Nov 2011
  • LG Nexus 4 released Nov 2012
  • LG Nexus 5 released Nov 2013

However, driven by the increasing market demand for latest cutting-edge technologically advanced smartphones, there is a great possibility that the Nexus 6 will be ready by the mid 2014.

Possible Curved display Feature

Google just like any other tech giant, the future is dictated by the trend present at that time. LG and Samsung have already phones in the market with the curved display but this has not gone so well with consumers everywhere. Chances are that Google might not go the curved display way with the Nexus 6. But it just rumors, you never know.

Google Nexus 6 Specifications

Different users have different expectations and needs, fulfilling peoples wishes is sometimes next to impossible all you can do is try your level best. As Google launches Nexus 6 speculations are already going round with fans and geeks alike expecting the best of it. But something like a 6GB RAM as some geeks would expect, is not at all sensible on a phone. Most probable it will carry at most 4GB, of which also is more than enough. Some expected specs include;

  • A 2.4 Ghz octa-core processor
  • 3GB/4GB RAM
  • About 5 inches 2K UHD display
  • 20MP high definition ultra-low-light sensitive camera
  • 3100 mAh battery
  • A biometric sensor
  • Two Nexus 6 versions with 64GB and 128GB internal memory

Summary:
However, with not so much of the information released by the boss himself about its release date, features, specifications and its price, we are all sure once again they wont disappoint as the case with the Nexus 5 which has the best design as of yet. So lets wait and we can judge
